This was me 20 years ago (and so much worse). I cared approximately zero percent about my health, fitness and wellbeing. I cared much more about nightclubs, DJ's, partying and drinking. As time went on, I looked and felt sick, my mental health was deteriorating and I knew I had to change this lifestyle ASAP.

An opportunity arose for me to relocate with work and I took this as a sign to clean up my overall health. I joined a gym hired a personal trainer (because I had no clue about programming or technique), and started my lifelong journey of lifting weights. 

I changed the food I ate, prioritised protein, vegetables, wholegrains and good fats. I started seeing results, but more importantly feeling 100% better. I did the work, the hard way, there was no magic pills to do it for me- I learnt to cook healthy balanced meals, cut out alcohol and trained 5 days a week. 

I went from over 30% bodyfat to 21% in 6 months. The effects of lifting weights completely changed my body shape, my mental health, and my outlook on life. I became stronger from the inside out. I was honouring my word, putting myself first and the results were coming. Action first- results come second, this is how making a change works. 

I never could've done this on my own. My fantastic personal trainer Tony, was a wealth of knowledge, guidance, and he pushed me just enough every session. He was my cheerleader, support system and secret weapon. This is the power of having a coach. It is worth the investment 10 fold and makes the journey quicker, easier and more enjoyable. 

Doing the work creates the change.
